18” x 24” on Canvas

Louisa Kleinert Louisa Kleinert
Life, I have found, has its own divine and ridiculous harmony. Two factors in my life, and common to the human experience, are humor and animals. While observing animals, I see a humanness and honesty that humans routinely camouflage. Through my work, I mean to communicate how much we have in common with these creatures. My hope is the whimsical and general ridiculousness present in my paintings communicates the serious needs and similarities we have with these creatures. Anyone who has spent any time around horses knows of their majesty and grace, but also of their quirky spirits and unique personalities. Horses hold a unique position in the human society and hearts, all over the world, not just in Kentucky. My Crazy Horse series highlights their silly expressions, so similar to our own, and are one of my favorite things to paint. I cannot stop laughing while I paint them. For more crazy horses visit me at The Kentucky Bluegrass Art Festival, at Churchill downs May 26-28th. Commissions available: www.louisakleinert.com
